Guide for aspiring and experienced models on how to approach a prints-for-timeĀ (or time for CD) shoot, and some general notes for models - but not a how to become a model guide.
I am one of the few photographers who still offers Prints-for-Time (PFT) shoots. Every year I receive a large number of inquiries, yet I can only do a handful of prints for time shoots. More often, but still on a very limited basis, I will offer Time-for-CD (TFCD) shoots to select models who I feel will advance my portfolio of images or have a particular look that I would like to capture.
Even though you get free photographs from a prints for time shoot, it is not simply a "get your prints free" scheme. It is a co-operative relationship between the photographer and a model in which you, the model, have to take your share of responsibility - See Come Prepared.
This guide was written for aspiring models who are considering applying for a PFT or TFCD shoot with me, and it also offers advice to any model at the start of her or his career, be it on a PFT shoot or a paid assignment.
If you are thinking of applying for a PFT shoot with me, I would ask that you read this guide.
