Even though I offer prints for time shoots for models, there is no guarantee that I can accept your application. I regularly receive many more applications than I can consider.
What you receive from a prints for time shoot with me represents a value of several hundred dollars. I read every application that I receive and you will get a reply.
I am very selective. I will ask you to tell me about yourself. I do not want to hear meaningless and boring statements. I want you to tell me what kind of person you are, what makes you tick and why you think that I should work with you.
You only make it past this first hurdle if I can see that you have thought about it and made an effort. I will only invite you to send photographs if what you tell me about yourself sounds promising.
The two most common reasons for being rejected are:
(1) You have absolutely nothing to say about yourself and there is very little that sets you apart from the rest.
(2) The co-operation between a photographer and a model involves conveying ideas. If you appear hopelessly inarticulate, this communication would probably not work.
However, a rejection does not always mean that there is something wrong with you. Often, my work schedule does not leave me enough flexibility for personal work or you are simply not right for a particular project I am working on. In these cases, I will keep your details and may come back to you at a later point.
I also offer a portfolio service for models, whereby you can commission me to photograph you for your portfolio.
